Location - Barbados

 

About the role:

Fibre Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and service delivery related activities required to support a fibre optic network Services to include Splicing, testing and installation of IPTV, Telephony & Broadband products within our telecommunication division within Barbados

Suitable for persons with skills in various professions (e.g., CCTV technicians, Electricians, Network Security technicians, IT and Network Technicians) will also be applicable

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install and service In-Home IP Optical GPON products to a standard as defined by the client.
  • Perform installation services for TV, Internet/WiFi services and Smart Home devices at the customer’s premises to the company’s quality standards
  • Troubleshoot fibre breaks and resolve through OTDR testing and Fibe optic splicing.
  • Update GIS software with relevant break-fix information.
  • Ability to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) set out by both the Client and Company
  • Deliver a first-class customer experience to high NPS standards
  • Positively promote the client’s brand, through on-site performance
  • Liaise with the team manager to ensure that on-site health and safety requirements or quality issues are communicated in a timely manner
  • Work to the highest of health and safety standards at all times

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience of delivering In-Premises services to homes and or businesses essential. (CCTV, Electrician, Alarms, Data/Telephony etc)
  • Proven previous practical experience ability with fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Good literacy, numeric and IT skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Valid Police Clearance cert
  • Flexibility to work shifts in line with business requirements
  • Possess excellent time keeping and time management skills
  • Be of outstanding good character - references required
