The purpose of the Facilities Electrical Superintendent is to effectively oversee and manage all workers associated with electrical assets of the Port and Harbor Companies.

FHC FACILITIES ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT

The purpose of the Facilities Electrical Superintendent is to effectively oversee and manage all workers associated with electrical asset. All equipment associated with port operations and critical equipment assets that ensures productivity and operational safety while working within established Port Safety Working Guidelines.  Manage supervisory staff to ensure productivity and quality assurance is achieved efficiently and in a cost-effective manner.

Education and Experience:

  • 15 years work experience as a Phase 1 Electrician
  • 10 years work experience as a Certified Phase 3 Electrician
  • Equipment & Building Management experience for 5 years
  • Posssess an excellent understanding of the local building codes

  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and a functional level

  • Computer Literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects and PowerPoint Applications
  • Must be able to swim.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Manage daily power consumption with the strategy to minimize usages.
  • Present reports that are strategic to the management and reduction of power electricity and reduction of overall carbon footprint.
  • Upgrade strategies on existing electrical infrastructure to reduce power disruption and failure.
  • Strategically coordinate with manufactures and suppliers on equipment maintenance, recovery and the deployment of resources to meet operational and customer goals with maximum efficiency.
  • Formulate policies and strengthen best practices in conjunction with Senior Management for continual improvement in profitability, safety, quality assurance, administration, operation, and personnel management.
  • Responsible, jointly, for the effective management and control of departmental budget and cost control measures.
  • Manage and report equipment lifecycle, life expectancy and replacement to ensure continual business operations are maintained.
  • Responsible for development and appraisal of subordinates in consultation with Human Resources and Training Departments while taking corrective actions where necessary to improve personnel performance.
  • Responsible for punctuality, accuracy, efficiency, and productivity of employees during work period.
  • Responsible for production of such statistical reports on personnel as required to measure performance.
  • Responsible for effective, accurate communication of operational goals; that is to supervisors, colleagues, subordinates, and all stakeholders including supporting departments.
  • Responsible for manpower and resource management, building the supporting relationships through mutual respect toward achieving corporate targets.
  • Responsible for preparing and clearly disseminating work instructions with sufficient forward planning and coordination to achieve best possible results.
  • Responsible for ensuring all projects, tasks are within compliance of the local building codes.
  • Assign duties and examine work plans for accuracy, conformity to policy, productivity, and efficiency.
