The Port Authority of Jamaica wishes to recruit a FACILITY MANAGER at the Falmouth Cruise Ship Terminal.

SALARY SCALE: $8,766,798.08 - $10,017,247.63 per annum.

JOB SUMMARY:

The role involves providing technical support for preventative maintenance of back-of-house facilities and other Port Authority structures at the Falmouth Cruise Ship pier. It includes maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment such as the standby generator, sewage plant, and water tank. The individual must develop and manage a preventative maintenance programme for all plant and equipment at the terminal. Additionally, they oversee property services like landscaping, sanitation, pest control, and janitorial operations to ensure compliance with operating standards and safety measures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • BSc. in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in facilities or building maintenance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement maintenance programmes for equipment and facilities at the Back-of-House and at the pier.
  • Monitor the performance of equipment with an aim to reduce equipment down time.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment in the Back-of-House area.
  • Support the implementation of mechanical infrastructure projects undertaken by the PAJ.
  • Carry out planned routine maintenance activities based on preventative maintenance requirements as outlined in the respective manuals pertaining to the Back-of-House operation.
  • Carry out monthly readings of utility sub-meters in conjunction with a representative from Falmouth Jamaica Land Company Limited and submit information to Finance Department for invoicing on a timely basis.
  • Assist in the procurement of maintenance services in accordance with the GOJ Procurement Guidelines.
  • Implement, monitor and report on the adequate provision of property services at FCST, namely landscaping, sanitation, pest control and janitorial service.
  • Perform failure and root cause analysis for breakdowns. Document and implement measures for repairs as appropriate, subsequent to receiving requisite approvals.
  • Regularly inspect the water mains, lift station pumps, sewer and drainage systems for functionality and cleaning.
  • Ensure electrical and lighting systems are working satisfactorily.
  • Ensure that grounds and perimeter fences are in good order.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to generate savings in cost and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of capital and maintenance budget for the FCST, including the Back-of-House area.
  • Closely monitor works carried out by contractors to ensure that works/service is provided in accordance with the contract, i.e. Agreements or Purchase Orders.
  • Participate in hurricane preparedness at the FCST.
  • Prepare monthly and periodic reports in respect of Back-of-House operations and other maintenance activities at FCST.
  • Any other duties assigned.
