As the Executive Chef, you'll craft exceptional menus, lead and train your kitchen team, and deliver high-quality food with theatrical flair across the island — all while maintaining sustainability, budget, and the highest hygiene standards in paradise

Here’s what you need to have:

 Qualifications / Experience

  • Worked in 5-star establishments
  • Previous experience working as Executive Chef
  • Flexible and able to cook in different environments
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, storage, health standards and nutrition
  • Versatile in providing different styles of cuisine (i.e. Asian, Italian, Caribbean, plant based, etc.)
  • Overseas or Caribbean experience an advantage
  • Good menu planning with a sustainable approach in the choice of ingredients and costing capabilities
  • Ability to be versatile and cover all verities of dietary requirements requested by the guests.

  •  Highly skilled Chef with an exceptional passion and ability to create outstanding meals
  •  Able to create and deliver bespoke and varied menus according to guest requirements
  •  Able to work with suppliers and secure excellent produce at the best possible prices
  •  Experience and ability to plan and deliver on high profile events of up to 200 people coming onto the island and multiple   dining locations

What’s the gig?

 Here’s what you’d do:

 

  • Manage the kitchen team to maintain an exemplary level of food standards reflecting the needs and requirements of our guests and team members
  • Maintain food costs within budget
  • Menu plan, including costed recipes, stock and wastage control, ordering within the company procurement and sustainability policies, and also liaising with guests at Necker Island to create private parties and exclusive uses menus and to ensure that requests and dietary requirements are met
  • Balance staff menus with budget and staff contentment levels
  • Commit to training the team, supervise their performance to ensure quality and consistency at all times. Developing those with potential with a view to internal promotion
  • Responsible for preparing meals, menus for events and bar snacks to be consumed in many venues around the island.
  • Supporting the guest experience with high quality food and a sense of theatre, interacting with guest, maintaining a high degree of flexibility with regards to guest's request and requirements, is an essential part of the job.
  • Work closely with the kitchen, Guest Services and F&B teams, management and other departments to ensure a harmonious working atmosphere and living atmosphere
  • The location of the property and the team size means that everyone is hands-on and this includes assisting with the unpacking of all food deliveries and ensuring that the proper storage is given
  • Maintain the highest level of hygiene as per the standards of Virgin Limited Edition and the local Health Department
  • Maintain a high level of guest contact and liaison to deal with special requests, private dinners, special events and exclusive use bookings
  • It is essential that the highest level of hygiene, as per the standards of the BVI Environmental Health Department and company H&S and HACCP policies, in and outside of the kitchen and the appliances that are used is maintained
