The Office of Ethics (ETH/ETH) is responsible for providing impartial assistance to IDB Group employees and management in reviewing and resolving matters related to ethics and workplace conduct. ETH provides advice in response to requests for interpretation of the Codes of Ethics and Professional Conduct for IDB and IDB Invest (Codes of Ethics), manages the Declaration of Interest (DoI) Program, investigates employee misconduct allegations, and leads communications, outreach, and training initiatives to increase awareness on ethics and workplace conduct.
We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful, reliable, and tech-savvy Specialist to join the Office of Ethics in its Prevention function. In this role, you will primarily lead the ETH’s Declaration of Interest (DoI) Program and its digital transformation efforts, as well as support employee consultations regarding the Codes of Ethics, and, as needed, on other ETH activities, such as outreach, communications, and training.
· Lead the management of the DoI Program, including, but not limited to, planning, preparing, and executing the annual and onboarding exercises, reviewing DoI forms, providing user support and assistance, performing follow-ups as necessary, recommending mitigating or corrective measures to the Ethics Officer, and writing reports and recommendations on how to improve the DoI program.
· Responsible for the preparation of documents, communications, and templates to be used in consultations for the DoI Program and its annual audit.
· Lead or co-lead ETH’s digital transformation efforts by working with multidisciplinary teams and liaising with the Bank’s Technology and Transformation Department to improve the functionality of ETH’s DoI platform, ETH’s case management system, and Artificial Intelligence efforts and initiatives.
· Research and review case and ethics consultations data to help establish patterns to aid in the elaboration of policies, protocols, and misconduct prevention activities.
· Review, analyze, and respond to employee consultations regarding provisions of the Codes of Ethics.
- Collaborate with the development and implementation of outreach, communications, and training activities.
· Research, compile, and analyze data and information relevant to the ETH’s work, engage in benchmarking efforts focused on ethics topics, and make recommendations for improvements in ETH’s services.
· Collaborate and liaise with corresponding corporate units for inquiries, case management, and general requests.
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Law, Political Sciences, Ethics, Business, or other fields relevant to the role's responsibilities.
Experience: You have at least 4 years of combined similar professional experience, with a preference for experience in one or more of the following areas: ethics, compliance, prevention or other relevant field in multilateral or private sectors.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
International: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
