Massy Wood is recruiting a Employment Relations Coordinator with significant indutrial relations experience.

 

Overview / Responsibilites

The Employment Relations Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining a positive relationship between employees and management, by providing guidance and support to prevent and/or resolve problems and disputes by creating and enforcing policies in the workplace.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures and processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies that promote and maintain a healthy and stable work environment.
  • Build the awareness of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation, including performance management, capability, discipline and grievance.
  • Provides guidance on the best practices regarding any issues relating to conditions of employment, salary, benefits and employee relations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations in accordance with good industrial relations practice.
  • Conduct and handle dispute resolution and mediation.
  • Advise management of employee relations strategies.
  • Investigate and resolve employee grievances.
  • Oversee restructuring/redundancy projects.
  • Undertakes offshore and site visits as required.
  • Undertakes on-call and emergency response duties as and when required.
  • Liaises with Industrial Relations consultant on industrial relations matters and participates in the Trade Dispute Resolution process.
  • Research and keep abreast of key industrial relations best practices and learnings from labour relations cases and ensure the HR Team has a heighten awareness of key trends and best practices in labour relations practice.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are reviewed annually and updated as required.
  • Supports and assist all HR projects as required.
  • Performs all other related job functions as required or assigned by your leadership.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline from a recognised university
  • Advanced Certificate in Industrial Relations or Labor Laws.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Industrial Relations.
  • Knowledge of people practices and applicable legislative frameworks.
  • Experience of dealing with industrial and employee relations issues.
  • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and exhibits sound and accurate judgment
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly · Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and trustworthiness
  • Proficient in Computer Applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
