The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing and leading employee relations strategies and programmes that foster a positive, productive and legally compliant work environment, while minimizing organizational risk.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Guide and consult on all compensation and benefits processes, including payroll, job evaluation, leave management and participation in compensation surveys to enable management to make informed decisions.
  • Lead domestic level industrial relations and partner with senior business leaders and senior HR leaders to develop and implement labour relations strategy.
  • Coordinate the Company’s case management process and provide direction and support on employee relations issues and employment practices to align on the expectations, approach and recommend resolutions.
  • Manage separations and the employee exit process, including off-boarding employees, conducting exit interviews, and analyzing separation statistics for trends.
  • Work closely with the health and safety team and managers to ensure that accidents/incidents are reported and investigated, manage return to work and access to EAP services.
  • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of Human Capital Strategic Plans and Budgets; monitor activity, spend and data analytics to measure and report on the impact of HR initiatives on business results to ensure programmes remain relevant.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Change management expertise
  • Strong business partnering, consulting and communication skills
  • Knowledge of corporate benefit plans, including pension, medical insurance and leave entitlements
  • In-depth understanding of Human Resources practices, employment law, and collective bargaining
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality

 

YOUR BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant work experience involving labor management and employee relations in both union and non-union environments and at least three (3) years in a human resources leadership role.
