The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing critical safety devices, power generation and railway control systems in addition to the general Plant instrumentation, power and control systems to maintain the highest levels of equipment availability.

Main Responsibilities include:

• Maintain, repair, install and troubleshoot plant electrical systems and instrumentation - electrical motors, generators, hydraulics and pneumatic electrical control systems, switch gears, transformers, switchboard metres, regulators.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current voltage and resistance.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programmes and keeps maintenance records.
• Install examine replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacle and other electrical components.
• Collaborate with other craftsmen and operating personnel in carrying out maintenance activities.
• Participate in Reliability Centred Maintenance activities inclusive of gathering CM data, assessing equipment condition and risks of failure and recommending mitigation actions to maximize equipment accuracy, uptime and efficiencies. 
• Read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial equipment installation.
• Identify and correct boiler defects.
• Calibrate Instrumentation.
• Prepare calibration records.
• Identify and order parts and electrical components subject to the requisite approvals

Required Competencies:

• Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and Industrial Instrumentation.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex maintenance problems and sound understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance processes.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze electrical systems and their interaction with associated mechanical systems/hydraulic systems and associated equipment.
• Ability to prioritize across multiple projects.
• Excellent troubleshooting and condition monitoring techniques.
• Proficiency with PC-based software applications including Microsoft Office.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Electrical /Instrumentation Engineering.
• Three (3) to five (5) years experience in industrial controls and instrumentation.
