Electrical Technician

Under supervision of Electrical Supervisor, performs electrical duties as assigned

• Develop and modify PLC and HMI Logic for pump control systems

• Upload/download programs and perform firmware updates as needed

• Troubleshoot logic faults and optimize control strategies

• Install, Test and Maintain electrical control panels, sensors, VFD’s and instrumentation for flow, level, pressure and temperature

• Perform cable terminations, conduit installations and loop checks

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IS’s and wiring diagrams

• Diagnosing and solving electrical problems, identifying and replacing faulty components.

• Provide electrical guidance to the Scheduler for the planning of works ahead.

• Adhering to safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards to ensure safe work practices.

• Maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and any relevant documentation.

• Working with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to complete projects efficiently.

• Providing guidance and training to other technicians and apprentices.

• Using specialized tools to test electrical systems, measure voltage, current, and resistance.

• Conducting Site Visits

• Attend job related training

• Signs required forms with regard to electrical inspections in relation to a particular job;

• Assists in preparing material request and local purchase requisition for specified jobs assigned weekly by Coordinator Planning/Scheduling - and Electrical Supervisor;

• Completes Daily Service Reports;

• Ensures all works are carried out in accordance with current Company Procedures and Policies particularly, as they relate to the Company’s Quality Management System and EHS procedures;

• Performs related duties as assigned.
