Electrical Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The Electrical maintenance technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. All aspects of our equipment and electrical systems including lighting, communication systems, and power distribution systems. He/she is required to have a strong understanding of electrical theory and can read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. They must have the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with electrical systems and equipment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems and perform necessary repairs.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to optimize electrical systems and equipment.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.
• Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
• Stay up to date with advances in electrical technology and industry best practices.

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school training in electrical systems.
• Minimum 3 years experience in electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of electrical safety codes and regulations.
• Electrical License would be an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in industrial control systems.
• Experience with electrical testing and measurement equipment.
• Experience with electrical power distribution systems.
