The Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer will support the Maintenance Department by planning, developing, and coordinating the Electrical and Instrumentation function related to corrective, preventive, predictive, and outage maintenance.
The Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer will support the Maintenance Department by planning, developing, and coordinating the Electrical and Instrumentation function related to corrective, preventive, predictive, and outage maintenance. The role is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving electrical and control systems to meet required specifications, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, quality, sustainability, and cost effectiveness.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Support
Establish and maintain engineering standards to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient electrical and instrumentation systems.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Provide technical leadership for electrical systems, control systems, DCS, and SIS-related issues.
Identify engineering problems and implement effective technical solutions.
Maintenance & Operations
Plan and execute corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs.
Prepare and review work packages, inspection and test plans, and execution strategies.
Provide technical support to maintenance technicians and operations teams.
Supervise installation, testing, and maintenance of power distribution systems, motors, panels, DCS/PLC systems, instrumentation, control valves, and ESD systems.
Coordinate with other departments and contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to specification.
Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
Recommend and implement improvements to enhance plant reliability and performance.
Provide technical advice on process optimization and system enhancements.
Leadership & Administration
Coordinate E&I technician activities and report progress to the Maintenance Team Leader.
Assist with maintenance planning, shutdown prioritization, and monthly work reviews.
Support performance management, training, and development of team members.
Assist in sourcing spare parts, tools, and services required for maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline.
Experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial or process environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, DCS/PLC, and field instrumentation.
Proven commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
