JOB SUMMARY:
The EI&C Technician will attend to all EE’s assets located at the Montego Bay Micro LNG Facility, Jamaica and ensure all equipment is in good working order and be proactive in fixing potential problems to ensure production goals are met. This is a frontline position with responsibility to carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on the LNG terminal’s electrical, instrumentation and control systems and equipment at locations on-site and off-site. The candidate is expected to assist with trouble shooting and problem-solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities:
- Prioritizing and organizing work activities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously to meet set timelines.
- Performing daily activities to update equipment records into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Daily execution of maintenance work orders generated from CMMS database.
- Creating corrective work orders and equipment inspection reports via CMMS.
- Performance of electromechanical equipment maintenance, executing work orders, troubleshooting & repairing existing equipment.
- Providing support for installation of new equipment.
- Reporting all malfunctions observed throughout Natural Gas (NG) metering and receiving stations.
- Overseeing work carried out by O&M or OEM contractors on the terminal and at offsite location.
- Making recommendations for performance improvements of operating assets at on-site and off-site locations.
- Report all HSSEQ observations and make recommendations for improvement.
- Reviewing operations data and identifying operating trends that can lead to malperformance of equipment and provide weekly reports.
- Understanding and ability to work in Cryogenics and Natural Gas (NG) environments
- Travelling to offsite locations, during and outside of regular scheduled hours, to execute and/or oversee maintenance activities of staff or contractors.
- Providing technical support to facilitate the upgrade or replacement of critical communication equipment shared between the LNG offload cargo and control room operator.
- Reading and understanding P&ID and electrical schematic drawings.
- Understanding and adhering to the Standards of Procedure (SOP) requirements of LOTO, confined space and hot-work operations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 + years of similar experience in a process plant or similar capacity
- Diploma in Engineering and/or equivalent or higher
- In-depth knowledge of standard procedures in electrical/instrumentation controls, hydraulic systems and electrical/electronic processes and systems
- Communicate accurate information to staff, supervisors and Plant Management.
- Experience with industry best practices using CMMS
- Knowledge of or certification from NFPA, NEC, IEC
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of power plant operations
- Familiarity with repairs and calibration of plant electrical, instrumentation and control equipment and Power Plant Monitoring System (PPMS/DCS).
- Sound knowledge of Industrial Safety
- Knowledge of industrial and utility health, and environmental standards.
- Knowledge of LOTO, Confine Space and Hot Work permit system and requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This role will require physical demands such as moving around, lifting loads, working at heights/depths, in sometimes harsh weather/environmental conditions or in proximity with harsh chemicals and standing for prolonged periods, and travel to community sites.
