Education Officer – Reading

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Education Officer – Reading to lead the development and implementation of reading programmes across Bermuda’s public schools. This role will support teachers, strengthen literacy instruction, and ensure students develop strong reading skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of reading curriculum and programmes
• Oversee reading interventions and monitor programme effectiveness
• Support and supervise Reading Resource Teachers across schools
• Provide training and professional development for teachers and administrators
• Develop reading assessments in collaboration with curriculum teams
• Work with schools, parents, and Ministry staff to improve literacy outcomes

Qualifications and Requirements

• Master’s degree in Reading, Literacy Education, or a related field
• Postgraduate coursework in reading intervention or literacy education
• Minimum 5 years teaching experience in reading or literacy education
• Minimum 3 years administrative or leadership experience
• Strong communication, facilitation, and programme leadership skills
