A reputable publishing company in Kingston is seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and self-motivated Editor to join its publishing team. This role offers the opportunity to shape educational and literary content across print and digital platforms, supporting the development of high-quality publications for diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform substantive and copy editing of manuscripts and e-products to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

  • Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts, and designers throughout the publishing process—from manuscript review to final production.

  • Conduct market research and content evaluation to identify new product opportunities and enhance existing publications.

  • Prepare editorial briefs (cover, art, design, and photo briefs) and liaise with the publishing team to secure copyright permissions.

  • Monitor project timelines and activity schedules to ensure timely delivery of all editorial outputs.

  • Contribute to the development of e-products, PowerPoint presentations, and marketing materials related to new books.

  • Provide support to the Commissioning Editor in developing new publications and managing revisions to existing titles.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Literatures in English, Communication, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • 1–2 years’ editorial experience in publishing, communications, or related areas.

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign/InCopy, Microsoft Office Suite, and other editorial or content management tools.

  • Strong command of English grammar, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
