Editor
A reputable publishing company in Kingston is seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and self-motivated Editor to join its publishing team. This role offers the opportunity to shape educational and literary content across print and digital platforms, supporting the development of high-quality publications for diverse audiences.
Perform substantive and copy editing of manuscripts and e-products to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts, and designers throughout the publishing process—from manuscript review to final production.
Conduct market research and content evaluation to identify new product opportunities and enhance existing publications.
Prepare editorial briefs (cover, art, design, and photo briefs) and liaise with the publishing team to secure copyright permissions.
Monitor project timelines and activity schedules to ensure timely delivery of all editorial outputs.
Contribute to the development of e-products, PowerPoint presentations, and marketing materials related to new books.
Provide support to the Commissioning Editor in developing new publications and managing revisions to existing titles.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Literatures in English, Communication, or a related field from an accredited institution.
1–2 years’ editorial experience in publishing, communications, or related areas.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign/InCopy, Microsoft Office Suite, and other editorial or content management tools.
Strong command of English grammar, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
