Driver

The incumbent is responsible for the timely delivery of goods to customers and pick up of raw materials and packaging from suppliers on a daily basis. The incumbent will also pick up/dispatch checks/documents as the needs arise.

ROLE & CORE FUNCTION:

The incumbent is responsible for the timely delivery of goods to customers and pick up of raw materials and packaging from suppliers on a daily basis. The incumbent will also pick up/dispatch checks/documents as the needs arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

 Receives instructions  for round town deliveries  and weekly out of town deliveries. 

Checks cartons and packages at the check off point against prepared invoice/ picking slip for correctness of goods including correct quantities.

Assists with loading delivery truck with goods

Makes deliveries to customers according to route schedule.

Returns signed documents (invoices) to the office promptly.

Records any goods returned by customer due to damage etc by issuing a “Customer Return Slip”. Communicates with Warehouse Supervisor on such matters.

Take goods returned by customers, to the warehouse for documentation and subsequent testing by the lab, and relevant processing.

Retrieve Purchase orders from Purchasing Dept; pick up raw materials promptly using P.O. provided.

Assists in the washing down of the factory periodically and as assigned.

Attends and actively participates in monthly meetings of the warehouse team.

Attends and actively participates in General Staff Meetings.

Performs any other duties assigned.

EQUIPMENT USED

 Truck/van, Scale, Pallet truck, hand truck, forklift (with authority), telephone (mobile)

QUALIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

 High School graduate (must be literate)

Passes in at least 2 CXC subjects including english language & mathematics or equivalent.

Must be in possession of a valid general drivers’ license

Valid Food Handlers’ Permit

A minimum of 3 years' working experience in a similar capacity.
