Drive a motor vehicle to transport passengers and/or packages on a planned or scheduled basis. Providing extremely high levels of customer service and professionalism towards employees, visitors, and contractors.

Job Scope:

Drivers are responsible for carrying out department roles and responsibilities while adhering to and maintaining the company’s core values.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete annual medical fitness and driving certification.
  • Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a unit.
  • Arrive at destinations on schedule and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Research and plan for traffic, construction, weather delays and consult with Senior Drivers to determine best route.
  • Report or escalate incidents and feedback through established channels.
  • Conform with department protocols and SOPs relating to incident reporting task actioning and reporting function.
  • Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order.
  • Loading and unloading of company assets and general supplies and obtaining relevant signatures from employees or clients upon all deliveries and retrieval.
  • Carry out relevant client, deployment, bearer and retrieval duties during shift between offices.
  • Complete accident reports when necessary.
  • Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Maintain conduct according to company policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures towards transportation.

 

 

Requirements:

The successful candidate for this role will have:

  • A valid general driver’s license, and in some cases a commercial driver’s license.
  • Be between 27 and 35 years of age
  • Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo
  • Complete medical assessment.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving
  • Not have any other commercial driving responsibilities.
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years’ driving experience, not including foreign experience.
  • Must have an acceptable police record.
  • Solid experience in a similar environment.
  • Possess excellent time management capabilities to ensure deliveries are made on schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills and be computer literate.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative coordinating the shift, being thorough and accurate in all documentation.
  • Trained defensive driver.
  • Basic first aid knowledge.
  • Hours of work: flexible. Any scheduled 8-hour shift between 6:00a.m. – 10:00p.m
