OVERVIEW:
THE PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION IS TO PROVIDE DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SUPPORT FOR A VARIETY OF WORK ACTIVITIES INCLUSIVE OF PIPING, PLANT EQUIPMENT, ELECTRICAL, INSTRUMENTATION AND
CONTROL SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE, CIVIL/STRUCTURAL AND OTHER SPECIAL PROJECTS AS NEEDED. PRIMARY DELIVERABLES ARE DRAWINGS AND DESIGN FOR INSTALLATION OF PIPING, ELECTRICAL OR
OTHER CONSTRUCTION RELATED FUNCTIONS. THIS WORK SHALL INCLUDE THE PREPARATION OF SKETCHES AND THE CREATION OF DRAWINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS OF MACHINE COMPONENTS OR SYSTEMS
USING COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN (CAD) TOOLS.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce the detailed P&ID’s drawings, models, and specifications for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with MULTI-DISCIPLINARY teams to gather requirements and provide design solutions that meet project objectives.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected in the final documents.
- Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create high-quality, precise drawings and schematics.
- Maintain organized project documentation and ensure all files are up to date and easily accessible.
- Provide guidance on best practices in drafting and design methodologies.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress, challenges, and solutions, contributing valuable insights to enhance project outcomes.
- Works with the Manufacturing Team to provide engineering design drawings and bill of materials for all PCRs and ensures that they are in accordance with relevant construction Codes and Standards.
- Produce detailed design sketches for equipment associated with the project.
- Assists other Engineers in developing and assembling scopes, drawings and specifications into a “package”, enabling purchase inquiries to be issued for procurement of the materials or subcontract pricing.
- Performs fieldwork necessary to gather field data, checks tie-ins and provides construction support.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND PREFERRED:
REQUIRED:
- 15+ years of experience as a draughtsman in Petrochemical/Oil and Gas Environments.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD) and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
PREFERRED:
- Experience with 3D modeling software and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations relevant to the industry.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
- AutoCAD level I, II & III in CAD software and 3D modeling tools.
- Experience with project management software and collaborative design platforms.
- Experience in Process Plant Operation.
- Certification/ Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certification in Technical Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in use of Maximo.
- Working knowledge of general Process Plant maintenance.
- Experience working on a Petrochemical Plant. (Methanol plant is a preference.)
- Trained or functioned as a Performing Authority.
