The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering drawing and design support to mine engineering, property and production activities.
Main Responsibilities include:
Collect, interpret and appropriately use survey/GPS raw data to produce drawings, maps and other technical outputs.
Analyze sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of land, haul roads and orebodies. Compute surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances and locations of features of interest.
Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs. Operate with the appropriate tools and techniques and in accordance with prescribed working standards, practices and drafting conventions.
Maintain and revise drawings/documentation to incorporate mining status changes.
Prepare and maintain database and directory of maps and drawings in physical and electronic format.
Conduct site visits and collaborate with other relevant area personnel to ensure correct understanding of information, requirements and issues associated with each assignment and resolve queries arising therefrom.
Assists land surveyor in performing a variety of surveys in support of mining activities.
Required Competencies:
Proficiency in the use of computer design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs included but not limited to Road design plans, Profile and Cross Section
Proficiency in the use of Autodesk Civil 3D
Working knowledge of GIS software. Familiarity with ArcGIS would be an asset.
Excellent working knowledge of standard drafting conventions
Excellent computer skills - proficient in use of MS Office software applications
Valid driver’s license
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of Diploma in Built Environment, Land Surveying or Land Management.
Three (3) years’ design and drafting experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
