(Salary Scale: $ 5,863,044.00 - $ 6,969,317.00 per annum)

 

 

The Hanover Health Services (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health &
Wellness) requires two (2) District Public Health Nurses (HPC/RN 4) for the
Lucea Health District & the Hopewell Health District.
The District Public Health Nurse will be responsible for providing supervision, leadership and
management of nursing and midwifery staff and services to ensure the positive outcomes of
health promotion and disease prevention & control.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 
  • Provide clinical management to women requiring antenatal and postnatal care,
  • newborns, infants, children, adolescents & adults
  • Conduct home, school and industrial visits for health promotion, disease prevention,
  • investigation and follow-up
  • Make referrals based on physical and psychosocial assessment of clients and documents
  • same appropriately
  • Collect, collate and analyze data of assigned health area for assessment of health status
  • and effectiveness of health programmes
  • Coordinate, manage and evaluate child welfare, antenatal, postnatal, family planning
  • and other clinics
  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of the parish disaster plan with a
  • focus on own geographical area
  • Plan, implement and evaluate in-service education programmes for staff
  • Act as field guide for basic and post basic nursing students and medical students

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Public Health Nursing/ BSc. in General Nursing/BSc or Post Basic Training & Certification in Midwifery from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years’ working experience
  • Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica
