Distribution Centre Manager - Montego Bay

The Distribution Centre Manager leads all warehouse and distribution operations to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods. This role drives optimal inventory control, cost efficiency, operational excellence, and high service levels for both internal and external stakeholders. The manager ensures compliance with safety standards while fostering a high-performing, accountable, and continuous improvement culture.

Major Responsibilities

Warehouse & Distribution Operations

• Manage daily warehouse and distribution activities, including inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and workflow efficiency.
• Implement and maintain SOPs and ensure accurate stock records through audits and cycle counts.
• Plan and manage deliveries to achieve On-Time In-Full (OTIF) targets, coordinating with transport providers and internal teams.
• Monitor performance, resolve service issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Inventory & Cost Management

• Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing holding and obsolescence costs.
• Investigate and resolve stock variances, damages, and losses.
• Manage warehouse and distribution budgets, controlling labour, transport, and operational costs.

People Leadership & Reporting

• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and distribution teams across multi-shift operations.
• Oversee workforce planning, performance management, training, and disciplinary processes.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Track and report KPIs (OTIF, inventory accuracy, picking accuracy, productivity, shrinkage, and cost per unit).
• Support Lean, 5S, and system improvement initiatives (WMS, ERP, digital processes).

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.
• Oversee proper handling and storage of all goods, including hazardous or temperature-sensitive items.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in warehouse and distribution operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, WMS, and logistics best practices.
• Proven experience managing large teams and multi-shift operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
