The Distillery Manager is expected to maintain oversight of plant operations (fermentation & distillation), distillery assets management, including LPG powered boiler.
National Rums of Jamaica Limited seeks to fill the position of Distillery Manager for its Long Pond operation. The successful applicant will possess strong chemical engineering skills and business acumen with a proven track record in overseeing operational and engineering teams in large distilleries. The Distillery Manager is expected to maintain oversight of plant operations (fermentation & distillation), distillery assets management, including LPG powered boiler. Additionally, the role is responsible for supervising the cane farming operations to meet annual crop targets while ensuring modality of fertigation is executed in line with regulatory requirements.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a diverse team while managing plant operations ensuring agreed distillation target is achieved.
- Implementing and managing continuous production improvements to optimize designated key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor costs of production within agreed efficiency and quality standards.
- Overall responsibility for farming operations.
- Ensure effective programs are in place for employee health & safety, food safety and quality.
- As a member of the management team, the Distillery Manager contributes to driving company strategy and culture.

- Have knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, ISO, OSHA, and NEPA regulations.
