Dispensing Technician

Dispensing Technician at TWC, a Virgin Islands whole-person wellness clinic. Assist the Optometrist and clinical team with eyewear services, including frame/lens selection, precise optical measurements, fitting, and patient education. Requires a detail-oriented, organized, proactive candidate.

Position Summary: 

The Wellness Center Clinics (TWC) is a multidisciplinary medical, behavioral health and vision organization in the Virgin Islands committed to whole-person wellness. The Dispensing Technician assists the Optometrist and clinical team in providing eyewear services to patients, including supporting the selection, preparation, and delivery of eyeglasses and contact lenses. This role supports TWC’s Live Well Framework through attentive patient assistance, accurate administrative support, and commitment to ethical service. Key Responsibilities: 

A. Dispensing and Technical Care

• Assist patients with the selection, dispensing, and fitting of frames and lenses.

• Take precise optical measurements and make necessary adjustments to eyewear.

B. Patient Interaction & Education

• Educate patients on the proper care and use of their new eyewear and contact lenses.

C. Administrative & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of all orders and patient measurements.

• Ensure safe use and maintenance of optical equipment.

D. Customer Service & Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with administrative, medical, and behavioral health teams.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; optical or healthcare training is a plus.

Licensure: No licensure required.

Experience: Prior experience in an optical, healthcare, or retail setting preferred; entry-level candidates with training considered.
