The individual will have the responsibility to develop and drive a competitive retail sales and business development strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders of the business to deliver or exceed revenue, EBIT, Net Promoter and CSAT targets

Key Accountabilities:

  • Set a strategy for uniting sales, service and customer experience (ensuring this complements the overall Company strategy) and ensure this is widely understood by all key stakeholders.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to inform sales strategies
  • Collaborate with commercial and finance teams to develop annual sales and warranty strategies and targets, EBIT and business development plans to deliver company, regional and branch level plans
  • Collaborate with other functional heads to drive a sales focus, by aligning activities, designing initiatives and negotiating solutions to deliver revenue and EBIT targets
  • Collaborate with Commercial team to analyze customers, markets and emerging opportunities; prioritize and influence integrated solutions to gain competitive advantage, make timely and effective business decisions and achieve business objectives
  • Generate and pursue ideas for lucrative business opportunities and partnerships (divergent or similar) in collaboration with commercial and marketing to increase revenue streams and maximize revenue
  • Monitor and manage the customer base and develop retention strategies including business dependence of key segments, in collaboration with Commercial team to retain and grow customer base and maximize revenues
  • Creates and analyses tools and business metrics that provide lead and lag measures on performance and competitive position to initiate actions that mitigate threats, improve performance, position for growth and maximize revenues
  • Analyze and Review sales performance of the approved ranges by region/store as applicable and provide product insights to the Commercial Team to develop line extensions, new product opportunities, achieve product rotation, revenue and EBIT targets
  • Partner with Human Capital to identify, develop and coach key talent for succession to build bench strength
  • Effectively lead, motivate and develop people and teams at all levels towards a common goal and effective performance to achieve business objectives
  • Implement Effective KPIs and metrics, sales incentive plans and commission structures in collaboration with Regional Sales and HC to motivate employees to increase sales, optimize product mix and improve profits
  • Champions, deploys and drives implementation of and compliance with Sales Management programs to communicate results and deliver or exceed revenue, EBIT, Net Promoter and CSAT targets
  • Maintain focus and adherence to retail, visual merchandising and customer experience standards to enhance store ambiance and the customer experience
  • Examine and develop plans in collaboration with Customer Experience, to improve business processes, systems, policies and workflows to enhance the customer experience, improve staff efficiency and productivity levels and ensure alignment with company goals
  • Champion and influence the strategic response to customer feedback and a continued focus on providing a positive customer experience at every customer touchpoint to achieve Net Promoter Score and Customer Satisfaction targets
  • Manage sales operations, ensuring efficient processes and effective resource allocation
  • Deliver improvements in customer experience; identify new markets and product opportunities; and develop sales team to increase their capabilities
  • Establish relationships with clients and industry authorities to maintain a pulse on the competitive landscape of the market and to be most effective in a selling environment

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Qualification/Education and Experience:

  • MBA or other business-related degree, at the Master’s level
  • Minimum of 5 year’s senior leadership experience in Retail or similar industry

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Industry & functional knowledge - strong all-round knowledge in retail operations with a deep understanding of various products and services as well as local, regional, and national market trends
  • Leadership - people management skills, and leadership ability to maximize team members potential
  • Decision making skills -ability to follow a rigorous yet fast pasted approach to making effective decisions
  • Communication - exceptional communication skills to convey messages sampling and in a compelling manner across all levels of Unicomer (Board to frontline)
  • Analytical skills - strong analytical and problem-solving skills proven in a high stake environment
