Lead research aligned with College and national priorities, secure funding for innovation, communicate findings, and build partnerships to support collaboration and practical application.
Develop and implement research and innovation strategies consistent with the overall College strategies and develop associated policies, ensuring effective research and innovation management within each Faculty
Conduct research on students, graduates, employers and other key stakeholders as well as special aspects of the economy, labour market, educational system, programmes and other relevant areas to inform the College’s decision/policy making process
Implement systems to build and sustain a strong culture of research and innovation throughout the College.
Monitor activities with regard to research targets, and monitor research quality for the Annual Research and Innovation Review.
Monitoring compliance with best practice and integrity in all research and innovation matters.
Encourage effective training and development in research and innovation in order to support researchers in the achievement of international standing and impact.
Work proactively with other staff to ensure the embedding of enterprise and innovation within the research activities and culture of the College
Promote and facilitate leading-edge research, including collaborative and interdisciplinary research, in areas related to the goals of the College and the country’s national vision
Build and provide sufficient support for, a community of innovative researchers to enhance research capacity at the College and to increase internal and external research opportunities for faculty and students
Develop networks between the research unit and researchers in the field in the public and private sectors, locally, nationally and internationally;
Act as the nexus between the College and the community with respect to research initiatives of mutual benefit
Develop mutually beneficial linkages with industry in order to develop partnerships and collaborative research;
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in an area related to agriculture or Science
Preferably an earned doctoral degree from a recognised institution
Professional certification in education or teaching with at least 5 years relevant working experience
A minimum of 5 years administrative experience in a tertiary educational institution would be an advantage
Ability to analyze information, summarize findings and present them in ways easily understandable to decision-makers
