The Director of Human Resources will be accountable for all aspects of HR administration with a strong focus on compensation and benefits, total culture enhancement, talent management, and compliance across all Contact Center Operations.

The worldwide representative for Sandals and Beaches Resorts, Unique Vacations Ltd is seeking an innovative, performance-driven and customer-focused Director of Human Resources to join the team.

This individual must be a skillful leader with the ability to work collaboratively and build consensus in a matrix team environment. 

Based in Montego Bay, Jamaica, regular travel to our St Lucia and Grenada Contact Centers is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership

  • Partner with leadership team to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.
  • Design and implement human resources initiatives and programs, and create policies that are aligned with our culture.
  • Create standardization across all Contact Center Human Resources practices, policies and job structures.
  • Review existing HR functions, processes, and objectives and make recommendations and changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, counsel and decision making in the areas of employee engagement, performance management, talent management, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Participate in developing HR department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop, lead and execute the executive talent acquisition strategy for the Contact Center Operations.
  • Lead and inspire the HR staff to find, hire and onboard top-notch talent into the organization.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans for key open positions particularly management roles to ensure current roles are filled and the pipeline is strong.
  • Research and understand the local markets to determine competitive landscape, target competitors, profiles of successful candidates, etc.
  • Working with Digital Marketing to create a strategy around company and employment branding.
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
  • Negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret labour contracts.
  • Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.

Employee Relations

  • Along with VP of HR and Sr. Director of Contact Center Operations manage the resolution of complex employee relations issues, including potential litigation and claims.
  • Conduct investigations with legal impact – EEO issues, harassment, etc., and provides recommendations for actions and next steps and brings them to resolution.
  • Coach Management on best employment practices.
  • Guide Management through best disciplinary practices.
  • Help employees navigate changes or resolve conflicts.
  • Keep motivation high in the workplace.

Compliance

  • Know and understand local laws and regulations to ensure company compliance and to communicate new policies to every affected employees.

Culture

  • Support the facilitation of leadership and cultural initiatives. Use influence and mentor skills to cultivate a culture that reflects our core values.
  • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to teams.
  • Design and implement employee engagement strategies.
  • Partner with leaders at multiple levels and their teams to develop and execute HR strategies and activities that foster growth, innovation and organizational effectiveness. This includes designing, building and implementing programs, processes and tools to help set managers and employees up for success.
  • Own the communication and rollout of HR programs and projects.
