Key Responsibilities

• Investment Portfolio Oversight: Provide senior oversight of global fixed income and derivative investment portfolios, ensuring prudent management across asset classes and alignment with underlying reinsurance liabilities.
• Asset–Liability Management (ALM): Ensure close integration between investment strategy, liability profiles, and collateral management to support balance sheet profitability and capital efficiency.
• Investment Performance and Reporting: Oversee the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of portfolio performance, risk metrics, and compliance outcomes for senior management and governance committees.
• Governance and Committee Leadership: Chair the Branch Investment Committee, setting the agenda, guiding decision-making, and ensuring appropriate oversight of investment activities.
• Policy and Risk Framework Stewardship: Develop, review, and maintain investment policies and procedures to ensure consistency with corporate standards, regulatory obligations, and BMOLA’s risk appetite.
• Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Ensure all investment activities and structures comply with applicable regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and Investment Management Agreements.
• Investment Strategy and Opportunity Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend investment strategies and opportunities across public credit, private credit, and fixed income derivatives proposed by internal and external investment managers.
• Reinsurance Deal Pricing and Structuring Support: Partner with investment managers and internal stakeholders to structure investment portfolios and support structuring of relevant contracts and execution of global reinsurance transactions.
• Stakeholder and Manager Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with investment managers, internal risk and finance teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Enterprise Risk Coordination: Collaborate with legal, tax, finance, risk teams, and external advisors to identify, assess, and manage investment-related risks on an enterprise basis.

 Qualifications & Skills

• Professional designation such as CFA, CIA, FIA, or equivalent. 
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in global fixed income investment and/or analysis at a senior level, preferably in alternative debt, within the insurance, asset management, or financial services sectors. 
• Strong understanding of derivatives and hedging strategies. 
• Familiarity with Asset-Liability (ALM) requirements in insurance/reinsurance contracts. 
• Ability to work in a deal-driven environment. 
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Applications. 
• Strong knowledge of risk management and compliance requirements. 
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
