Job Summary

The Direct Sales Auditor is primarily responsible for supervising the sale team to achieve the  Distribution and Sales Volume Targets.  In addition to the co-ordination of deliveries regarding the Company’s Delivery Teams. The Direct Sales Auditor will work in a professionally and culturally appropriate manner that is consistent and cognizant of the company’s philosophy and Barbados labour laws.

The Direct Sales Auditor will collaborate with internal stakeholders at varying levels providing strategic sales guidance whilst partnering with management to support effective and efficient product distribution and sales.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Daily Scheduling and Dispatch process of the Sales Team ensuring on time departure in line with established schedule:
    1. Work closely with warehouse supervisor to address any load discrepancies with Sales Rep and Checker.
    2. Resolve team and operational issues to ensure no delay to departure schedule.
  2. Conduct distribution checks to assess Distribution (unique customer database); and highlight gaps and opportunities.
  3. Review Distribution report to analyze consistency in service to existing customers and growth of customer database.
  4. Make recommendations for performance improvement to close identified sales and distribution gaps in the sales market. 
  5. Conduct Chiller Audits during trade visits to ensure compliance with the contractual terms e.g. no competitor product in chiller, stocked in line with the company planogram.
  6. Review Chiller Report, to ensure adherence to contractual purchase volume for all customers.
  7. Coordinate the dispatch and/or collection of the Company’s assets from the respective outlets e.g. Chillers, Racks and Stands.
  8. Assess and adjust sales routes for effective coverage and efficiency.
  9. Promotes team communication and participation in the company Direct Sales Team Group chat.
  10. Conduct monthly route to market sales reviews with Customer Service Reps, to identify trade and individual performance.
  11. Conduct performance assessments with the Sales Team to ensure performance standards are clearly communicated and understood.
  12. Ensure that AR collections are made on time and in full.
  13. Schedule annual vacation leave in line with company leave policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain and promote Health & Safety Standards, ensure all members of the Sales Team are trained and informed of any changes.
  15. Reporting required –
  • Weekly competitor reviews
  • Weekly Chiller Sales reports
  • Daily Distribution report vs Targets by Routes
  • Monthly Price Surveys
  • Review daily Taxi Factor Report and advise the Sales Team.
  • Route Account Variance Report, review in line with approved limit.
  1. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  2. Based on operational demands and staffing requirements, performs duties of Customer Service Representative.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ sales experience preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Experience designing and implementing programs and action plans to strengthen distribution and sales in the FMCG industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of geography of Barbados.
  • Considerable knowledge of food and beverage industry in Barbados.
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship and people management skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution, problem solving and negotiation skills.
