The Digital Media and Content Creation Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the visibility, engagement, and brand image of the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management (SCHSBM)

Overview

This dynamic and creative professional is responsible for developing and executing the school’s digital media strategy across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with its strategic objectives. The Coordinator will manage SCHSBM’s social media presence, create high-quality multimedia content, and craft compelling written materials to promote academic programmes, events, research initiatives, and stakeholder achievements. The role demands a keen understanding of digital trends, audience engagement techniques, and brand storytelling within a higher education and business context.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Publications and Communication

  • Identifies and develops targeted and creative approaches for the integration of print, digital and video strategies.
  • Proactively explores and suggests creative ways to tell our story and expand our audience reach and engagement
  • Writes and edits clear, engaging content for blogs, press releases, newsletters, and website updates.

Social Media and Digital Channels Management

  • Develops and implements social media strategies that increase engagement, reach, and brand awareness across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Creates, curates, and manages content including graphics, videos, reels, stories, and written posts that supports SCHSBM’s marketing campaigns and overall communication goals.
  • Uses feedback data to inform the social media strategy and improve and increase audience reach and engagement.
  • Monitors channels to ensure timely responses to comments and messages.
  • Monitors social media and digital trends and opportunities as well as comments on posts and flag and address potential reputational risks for the SCHSBM.
  • Promotes the consistent application of SCHSBM social media and branding guidelines across SCHSBM social media outputs.
  • Provides social media support and training for colleagues in support of events/activities.
  • Remains current on issues, trends, technologies, demands and approaches in digital marketing and communications.
  • Monitors analytics and insights to evaluate performance, generate reports, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to identify storytelling opportunities that reflect the school’s impact and thought leadership.
  • Ensures consistency in branding, tone, and messaging across all digital content.
  • Stays up to date with digital trends, platform updates, and best practices in content marketing and social media management.
  • Coordinates the social media content and engagement plan in line with SCHSBM communication priorities and in consultation with staff.
  • Creates and edits original, engaging multimedia content, including video, GIFs, cards, carousels and other material.
  • Anticipates and identifies opportunities in the SCHSBM calendar and the global news agenda to promote the SCHSBM’s message on social media.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Establishes and maintains networks to strengthen social media engagement with SCHSBM content and amplify its reach.
  • Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content aligns with organisational needs and objectives.
  • Researches, gathers and creates content across the organisation to drive engagement.

General

  • Supports the marketing department as needed in the promotion and coordination of SCHSBM marketing events including Webinars, Open Days, the Annual Production, Awards nights etc.
  • Assists in administration tasks and data management as required.
  • Stays abreast of the latest digital innovations, trends, and opportunities, particularly in AI, to keep our digital presence at the forefront.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

  • Must be able to think creatively and innovatively; developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including high standards of written communication, grammar and spelling.
  • Understanding of communications principles and practices as well as communication platforms; including online, digital and print.
  • Information management skills, including high standards of written communication, grammar and spelling.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Trello, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software.
  • Must be able to work independently and make critical decisions.
  • Must be able to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Enhanced social media or content marketing experience.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of digital products and key market segments.
  • Solid knowledge of market research techniques, social media and web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, SEM Rush etc.).
  • Ability to take responsibility for tasks, prioritising and scheduling own work to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques, tools and methods across various medium.
  • Knowledge of data collection tools and methods and techniques of analysis.
  • Some proficiency with marketing, website content management systems, and CRM tools such as Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and Drupal.
  • Working knowledge of digital advertising platforms such as Google and LinkedIn Ads.

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems.
  • Experience working with email marketing platforms.
  • Experience in using and maintaining digital platforms including website, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
  • Experience working with market research data and competitor analysis.
  • Track record in producing audio-visual material for social media channels.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, business or a related discipline.
  • A professional marketing qualification (e.g., CIM or IDM) desired, but not a requirement.
