Development Director

The successful applicant will be responsible for Owner’s interests with the sole purpose of executing it’s goals and objectives, providing accountability among team members and ensuring the project stays on schedule and on budget

Specific requirements/duties of the position include: 

• Overseeing the entire development process from site selection and acquisition to construction and final handover.
• Ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Coordinating with architects, contractors, and other consultants.
• Developing and implementing sustainability strategies and programs in line with the resort’s goals.
• Collaborating with hotel staff and management to promote sustainable practices across all departments.
• Acting as the primary liaison between the owner and all project stakeholders.
• Protecting the Owner’s interest throughout the development, including post completion feedback
• Attending all shareholder and board meetings, providing updates, and addressing concerns.
• Developing and managing the overall project budget.
• Monitoring cash flow and financial projections.
• Approving expenses and manage cost control measures

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, management, construction, sustainability, or a related field. A master’s degree can be advantageous.
• Prior experience in project management, especially in the hospitality or construction industry, with a focus on sustainability.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure. Knowledge of sustainable practices and certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, EDGE) is a plus.
