Deryck A Gibson

Deryck A. Gibson Limited began trading in 1956.  At the time the company specialized in the supply of steel, building materials, construction equipment and machinery to fill the needs of the economic boom taking place in Jamaica during the 60’s and early 70’s.

During the 70’s, the company moved into the supply of container handling and heavy equipment including Valmet cranes, Dynapac rollers, route construction equipment and air compressors.

In the following decade, the company developed the supply of equipment to the bauxite industry and supplied Payhauler trucks, Grave cranes and J.I. Case excavating equipment.  It also established a service department staffed with factory trained technicians to serve as sales support.

During the early 90’s, the group established the supply of power plants and generator sets to both the public and private sectors.

In recent years the company has developed a service to the utilities supplying government contracts in connection with infrastructure, the National Water Commission (NWC) with their requirements with meters, piping, etc. 

The company has also developed a supply of materials and equipment to construction companies, developers, contractors and have been successful in procuring the requirements for special projects, sourcing from China, the UK, Europe and the USA maintaining their ability to supply steel, sheets, sections, bridging and piling in support of the manufacturing sector and special  projects.

The company has the National Contracts Commission (NCC) approval for a wide range of products and services.
