The Dental Technician manages lab production and 3D printing of dental appliances (e.g. crowns, dentures), ensuring precision, quality, and timely delivery while supporting overall customer satisfaction.

Location: Jamaica/Trinidad & Tobago
Employment Type: Full-Time
 
Purpose of Role:The Dental Technician is responsible for the scanning and digital printing of dental appliances 
(e.g. crowns, dentures) in our dental laboratory, ensuring the precision and excellence of the 3D
dental products. The DT is also responsible for management of the laboratory and production
systems, as well as playing a vital role in our customer delivery model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To oversee and administer production within the Lab area and ensure the quality provided to the end user meets required standards.
  • Ensure that clients orders are processed and delivered by agreed deadlines with strict adherence to process flow and standards of excellence.
  • Operate 3D scanning equipment to digitally capture real-world objects or environments and convert them into digital 3D models.
  • Prepare 3D models for 3D printing, ensuring that they are optimized for the chosen printing technology and materials.
  • 3D print dental appliances and apply textures and materials to achieve realistic and visually appealing results.
  • Communicate potential workflow issues to the management team and provide alternative courses of actions.
  • Understand and play an active role in the continued improvement of production, business processes and customer delivery.
  • Software Expertise: Utilize industry-standard 3D printing software such as Blender, ETEC and 3SHAPE.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to ensure that 3D models meet project requirements, are free of errors, and are ready for integration into larger projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients, team members and management to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Documentation: Assist in the maintenance of organized digital records of 3D assets, project specifications, and revisions.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Diploma, advanced diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Dental Technology or Dental Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, with successful registration as a dental technician with the appropriate national Dental Council.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a dental laboratory environment, with exposure to 3D scanning and printing technologies preferred.
  • Experienced in process flow, quality standards and customer delivery
  • Excellent experience of using standard office IT applications
  • Experience in working to deadlines
  • Desirable is experience in the 3D printing and working with materials (e.g. acrylics, resins) used in the health industry.
