The Demand Planner will be required to present findings that drive understanding, alignment and informed decision making, keeping all affected parties apprised of potential problems or issues impacting the business, including risks and opportunities.
Main Function
The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring and managing inventory levels and movements throughout the distribution locations. The role requires constant collaboration between various stakeholders including production, distribution, and sales to maximize distribution and sales targets for all products sold by CB Foods.
The Demand Planner will be required to present findings that drive understanding, alignment and informed decision making, keeping all affected parties apprised of potential problems or issues impacting the business, including risks and opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
Inventory
- Develop Demand Forecasts with reference to Field projections, Plant capabilities, historical sales, market trends, seasonality’s, promotions and customer projections.
- Lead the Demand Planning Meetings and own the Consensus Demand Plan.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of manufacturing constraints and capabilities of the manufacturing locations being planned for, providing regular feedback and information to drive discussions.
- Perform ongoing analysis and monitoring of actual “performance-to-plan” and identify significant variances to take corrective actions with Marketing, Sales and Production and detail assumptions.
- Monitor, manage and evaluate inventory levels at all locations based on projections and KPIs: Fill Rate, Stock Turnover Ratio, Aged Inventory etc.
- Monitor warehouse allocations and prepare transfer orders for the agencies.
- Conduct investigations into inventory management incidents.
Reporting & Documentation
Generate Reports as needed including:
- Inventory Analysis report
- Stock level variation report
- Expected Product Availability
- Generate and maintain procedures documentation as needed
- Weekly/bi-weekly meetings with various departs including production, field, marketing and sales.
- Other assigned tasks
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Tertiary level degree in operations or supply chain management or related field
- At least 4-5 years’ experience in inventory control, logistics and or procurement
- Candidate must possess very strong analytical skills
- Proven competence in computer skills with Strong Excel skills preferred
- Experience with forecasting tools and modules
