As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the prompt and accurate delivery of products to our customers. You will be the face of our company, interacting with clients and ensuring a positive delivery experience. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to various locations.
Follow delivery routes and schedules as determined by the company.
Load and unload products from the delivery vehicle.
Verify delivery information, including addresses and contact details.
Obtain names, signatures, and delivery confirmation from customers.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to provide updates on delivery status.
Maintain the delivery vehicle in clean and good working condition.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
Manage delivery records and report any discrepancies or issues to management.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally.
Pick items for upcoming deliveries from the warehouse
Collect payments from customers and ensure they are logged
Check off the delivery vehicle before each delivery
Ensure the delivery vehicle is topped off with petrol/diesel before deliveries as necessary
Report all and list all issues with the delivery vehicles when checking off and throughout operation.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Any other related duties that may be required for the successful execution of deliveries for this role, and may support this role.
Requirements:
Valid Driver’s Licence:
Must hold a valid Jamaican General Driver’s Licence (usually Class 3) for the type of delivery vehicle being operated.
A clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
Secondary School Education:
CXC subjects (particularly English and Mathematics) are an asset but not always mandatory.
Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
Knowledge of Road Safety & Vehicle Maintenance:
Strong understanding of Jamaican traffic laws and safe driving practices.
Ability to check and report on vehicle condition (oil, tires, brakes, fuel, etc.).
Customer Service Skills:
Polite, respectful, and professional when dealing with clients.
Ability to resolve delivery issues calmly and effectively.
Reliability & Punctuality:
Consistently on time and dependable.
Willing to work flexible shifts.
Attention to Detail:
Accuracy in delivery checks, payment collection, and record keeping.
Physical Fitness:
Able to lift and move packages safely (depending on the nature of deliveries).
Police Record:
A clean police record will be requested during the hiring process.
References:
At least two references, ideally from past employers in a similar role.
