Delinquency Manager

The successful candidate will lead the Credit Union’s delinquency and loan recovery function, ensuring effective management of arrears and minimizing credit losses in alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor delinquent loan accounts to ensure compliance with BOJ regulatory standards.
• Implement effective strategies to reduce delinquency and maintain industry-standard targets.
• Develop recovery strategies that reduce write-offs and maintain non-performing loans at 3% or less.
• Meet and negotiate with delinquent members to establish repayment or settlement arrangements.
• Prepare and dispatch recovery-related correspondences
• Liaise with stakeholders involved in the recovery process.
• Manage repossession activities and ensure proper documentation and reporting
• Attend court sessions and arbitration hearings as necessary.
• Prepare and submit timely monthly reports to Senior Management and the Delinquency Committee.
• Maintain accurate and audit-ready records supporting all recovery actions.

Minimum Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Credit Union products, including Pearls Ratio and IFRS.
• Familiarity with relevant banking regulations, including the Co-operative & Friendly Societies Act.
• Training in delinquency management.
• Working knowledge of Sharetec, OnBase, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong administrative, analytical, negotiation, communication, and customer-service skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or related discipline.
• Formal training in Credit, Risk Management, or Compliance (an asset).
• A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Credit, Delinquency, Risk, or Compliance
• At least three (3) at a managerial level in a medium or large organisation.

  Working Conditions

• Normal office environment.
• Travel as is necessary to perform official duties.
• May be required to work extended hours and weekends.
