Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven professional for the role of Customs Broker. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of customs regulations and local, regional, and international trade processes, procedures and documentation. The Customs Broker will facilitate and support the efficient clearance of goods while ensuring full compliance with all required laws and regulations.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately classify goods in accordance with tariffs, customs laws, and trade regulations.
  • Manage import and export documentation to ensure timely clearance of manufactured goods, retail goods, and other cargo.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Perform quality control checks to identify and correct errors prior to system authentication.
  • Oversee and coordinate the clearance of cargo in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Skills and knowledge requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of tariffs, customs regulations, import/export processes, and trade compliance.
  • A minimum three to four (3 – 4) years of experience working as a Customs Broker or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience filing and processing customs documentation using ASYCUDA.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
  • A clean police certificate of character.
