The Front Counter Customer Service & Sales Representative is responsible for providing professional service to walk-in, phone, and online customers while supporting daily sales and administrative operations. This role is a key contact point for customers and helps ensure smooth day-to-day business activities.
Main duties include greeting customers, assisting with purchases, preparing quotations, processing sales orders, generating invoices, receiving payments, and handling customer enquiries in a polite and efficient manner. The Representative must communicate product availability, pricing, promotions, and delivery timelines clearly and accurately.
A major part of the role involves full-time data entry and record management. This includes entering invoices, updating customer accounts, processing orders in the company system, maintaining files, tracking stock movements, and ensuring all customer and sales records are accurate and organized. Attention to detail is essential.
The position also requires advising customers on suitable products based on their needs, recommending alternatives when stock is unavailable, and upselling related items to increase sales. Strong product knowledge and a helpful attitude are important.
Additional responsibilities may include coordinating with warehouse staff on order preparation, confirming deliveries, following up on payments, and reporting customer feedback to management.
Candidates should have strong communication skills, computer literacy, and experience with invoicing systems or Microsoft Excel. Previous experience in customer service, sales, or distribution is an asset. Reliability, organization, and professionalism are essential.
