This role will function within the Originations department and the Collections department. The CSA primary role in Originations is to assist in verification duties thereby mitigating losses to the company and ensuring a credit worthy clientele.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Verify data on loan application forms against supporting documents and amend same where applicable to ensure data integrity.
  • Complete verification calls (employment and reference checks), as assigned, for booked applications and update loan application form with relevant details where applicable.
  • Undertake all activities necessary to move relax and renew loan queue to awaiting disbursement status.
  • Assist in setting up loans from all channels.
  • Ensure quality of loan originations – requirements for financing are met and timely follow-up for outstanding documents
  • Verification of loans, status 2 and status 3 – customer details, invoice data, supporting documents and collateral payment
  • Make follow-up calls to clients (for signatures/documents etc.)
  • Making calls to clients in arrears.
  • Update client record with relevant notes where required.
  • Assist with client queries regarding payments and account status.
  • Respond to sales personnel and brokers and queries on client history, account status, payment arrangements and other customer. service issues.
KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: 
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining LMS platforms (e.g., uploading courses, tracking participation, generating reports).
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the core principles of insurance and how this is applied on a day-to-day basis.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and how to meet these on a day-to-day basis.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the range of insurance products and services available in the market and how that knowledge can be used to meet client needs.
  • Basic principles of credit (5 C’s) and company’s origination processes and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Beacon’s underwriting processes and procedures which is needed for new risks, alterations, renewals and/or cancellations to be processed in an accurate and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • Minimum of five (5) CXC passes, must include Math and English (minimum grade 2).
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in collections/accounts receivables or in an Originations role. 
  • Certificate or Diploma in banking, business or customer service is an asset.
