Overview: Our client is a leading provider of technical solutions to corporate clients across Barbados and the Caribbean region. Due to growth, they are seeking to add a professional to the accounting team in Barbados to lead a team of collections personnel in the provision of collections services for the Company.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading a department of credit and collections personnel.
  • Developing strategies to reduce exposure to credit risk and bad debt write-off.
  • Reviewing accounts receivable ageing reports.
  • Managing customer relationships.
  • Approving credit accounts and setting credit limits.
  • Ensuring that team members conform to the departments record keeping and reporting requirements.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Assisting staff in resolving customers’ queries.
  • Monitoring insolvent accounts.
  • Preparation of monthly A/R Ageing Reports
  • Reviews of Sales Team monthly commission statements.

 

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years’ experience in Credit Collection and proven history of being able to achieve targets set.
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Accounting OR part qualified accounting designation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Good oral/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven Leadership skills.
  • Ability to deliver training effectively.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and be able to impart knowledge to others
  • Conflict resolution, negotiation, team building and risk management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
