We invite applications from highly motivated and experienced accounting professionals to fill the vacancy  of Credit Control Representative in our Finance Department.  Reporting to the Accounting Operations Manager, the successful candidate will provide support to the Receivables Unit by ensuring the timely collection of premium receivables and providing monthly updates on the status of individual Brokers, Agents and Direct Accounts.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

• Six CSEC Subjects at the General Proficiency level including English Language and Mathematics
• ACCA Level 1 or AAT or CAT
• Well developed Human Relations Skills
• Computer literate in Micrsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work on own initiative

 SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES/KNOWLEDGE:

• Sound knowledge of accounting procedures and hands-on experience in a computerized environment
• Confidential
• Polite and professional façade
• Good client interpersonal relationship skills
• Flexible

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of two years experience in Accounting
• Experience in the credit control environment would be an asset

 FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reconcile Brokers/Agencies and Direct Clients accounts receivables
• Make contact with Broker/Agencies and Clients to ensure timely collections of amounts received
• Visit Branches and Brokers to clear outstanding issues on client’s accounts
• Maintain files with statements, adjustments and correspondence for Brokers/Agencies and Direct Clients
• Ensure that commission rates on the system are in accordance with Broker/Agencies stipulations
• Work closely with the underwriting department in dealing with Insurers’ queries on a daily basis
• Deal with cancellation lists
• Ensure that premium payments received from Brokers/Agencies are logged on the system and correctly credited to client accounts
• Assist in training new members of staff
• Relief Cashier
• Any other duty, which may arise from time to time
