Courier/Driver

The Courier/Driver for the Gambling Control Commission plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and secure corporate services including transportation of company officials, sensitive documents, and equipment, to various locations across the country.

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the timely and secure delivery of materials essential to the operations of the Commission, thereby supporting its regulatory functions and maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all transportation activities. The incumbent may be required on occasion to work extended hours, weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation 

• Transport senior company officials to the various locations of the Commission as well as other government agencies and entities.
• Safely transport confidential documents, permits, and regulatory filings between Commission offices, government agencies, and other designated locations including Gambling establishments and other licensees of the Commission
• Develop efficient transportation routes to minimize travel time and maximize productivity.

Equipment and Material Logistics

• Operate assigned Commission vehicle to facilitate the delivery and retrieval of equipment, including computers, peripherals, and specialized gaming devices and gaming accessories.
•  Collect and deliver supplies, such as office stationery, forms, and operational materials, as required by the Commission
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with transportation operations, ensuring the security of transported items.
• Operate assigned vehicle within traffic laws of Trinidad and Tobago.

Vehicle Maintenance

• Ensure assigned vehicle is clean and perform routine inspections and maintenance checks (e.g. tyres, gas level, oil, brakes, coolants, lights) to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
• Report any mechanical issues or damages promptly and coordinate with the appropriate personnel for repairs.

Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, mileage, and any incidents that occur during courier/transportation activities.Assists in the preparation of documents related to legal, statutory and compliance issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Five (5) CSEC Subjects including English or relevant combination of skills and experience.
• Minimum three (3) years proven experience in courier services or related field preferred
• Minimum five (5) years driving
• Defensive Driving Certification.

Other Requirements

• Valid Trinidad and Tobago driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Police certificate of good character
• Minimum Age 25
