Job Summary

The Country Manager - Square Pharmaceutical is mainly responsible for the marketing activities for Square Pharma and to supervise the team of Medical Representatives.

The Country Manager - Square Pharmaceutical is also responsible for serving customers by selling products; meeting customer’s needs; achieving sales targets set by the company and its management in assigned territories.

Job Duties

  •  Supervise, lead and guide a team of medical representatives who are assigned to territories.
  • Manage all aspects of the product or project implementation in the assigned country.
  • Communicate with the primary office, report on progress, and act as the organization's representative in that country.
  • Coordinate, develop, and oversee staff, projects, and sales.
  • Develop goals and policies and establish standard operating procedures that are in alignment with the organization's mission.
  • Formulate strategic marketing plans and strategies to meet targets.
  • Analyze Country market trends consistently in order to make required changes to strategies developed and implemented and or formulate new plans
  • Assigning or reassigning territories as necessary in order to optimize/maximize potential.
  • Analyze sales numbers to find weaknesses in the system, cost-saving opportunities and redundancies.
  • Prepare quarterly budget and present it to the management team for approval.
  • Complete and submit weekly and monthly reports, which should contain the following:

                        1. Visits to doctors or pharmacies

                        2. Plans for upcoming week/month 

                        3. SWOT analysis of the brands within the line of products 

                        4. Strengths and weaknesses in medical representative observed during visits with team member

  • Manage, Mentor, Conduct or arrange for training sessions for medical personnel in order to ensure members are adequately prepared for the work assigned.
  • Will be charged with motivating employees, working with them to set and meet goals.
  • Resolve conflicts which may arise in the Team.
  • Conduct Training of newly hired Medical Representatives  
  • Engages in the hiring and firing process.
  • Conduct Employee Performance Appraisals for Medical Representatives
  • Conduct quarterly meetings to keep Medical Representative Team informed and in tune with their expected duties.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Entertain high profile clients for the sake of providing information needed for the closure of a Sales deal.
  • Ensure regular visits of key doctors, pharmacies with placing a heavy focus on main hospitals.
  • Visit Medical Representatives Team’s territories to confirm their work and to collect information from customers about the service which they provide.
  • Provide avenues for resolving customers’ dissatisfactions; which may or may not be the cause of a Medical Representative.
  • Implement actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
  • Select products for introduction in the local market from the supplier's website
  • Liaise with the supplier & the distributor's regulatory team in order to assist with follow-up visits to MOH regarding product registrations.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing department and any other department necessary to keep updated with information regarding incoming shipments.
  • Any other duty that may be deemed necessary for the proper functioning of and or the viability of the company.

  Education/Training/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Medical or Scientific field
  •  At Least 5 years’ experience in a similar field
  • Familiarity with the country or region in which one will work.
