Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Corporate Secretarial team in the capacity of:

 

 

Corporate Trust Officer

 

 

Responsible for the day-today administration on behalf of corporate clients.

 

Meet regulatory requirements, exercise sound fiduciary judgement, strong compliance awareness, and effective stakeholder management to ensure the obligations are legal and ethically met as a Trustee and Registrar.

 

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Corporate Trust Officer, you will:

 

  • Acquire, structure and maintain bond/trust registers, beneficiary schedules, asset schedules, payment and distribution, security enforcement triggers in adherence to administration checklists and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare, calculate, upload and execute payments as required by client based on agreement / Guided Source Documentation for action and review ahead of payment date.
  • Prepare and review (as required) monthly and/ or quarterly billings and reports/ compliance certificate (if any) for clients (internal and external).
  • Maintain and update assigned share registers.
  • Prepare and coordinate AGM and special meeting activities for assigned companies – despatching notices, reports in a timely manner, as well as attending the meetings and managing the bondholder / shareholder registration process.
  • Respond to all correspondence (inclusive of Audit Confirmation) from Auditors, regulatory agencies, shareholders, noteholders and other internal or external parties as assigned.
  • Complete reconciliation of payment activities for all managed bank accounts (and dividend accounts as assigned).
  • Prepare and submit TAJ filings for client companies and filings of returns and compliance reports and information required for Board Meeting (from time to time).
  • Prepare and liaise with Group Legal regarding contract agreements, deeds, other documentation etc. to ensure alignment with requirements of services to be provided in alignment with applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or General Management, or Accounting-Finance major or other educational / professional equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least 2-5 years working experience in trust administration, fiduciary services, financial corporate / commercial securities industry at an intermediate or professional level.
  • Familiarity with AML/CFT compliance requirements and Jamaican Securities Course or other securities industry / trust administration training would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Jamaican trust law and regulatory framework and banking/financial services systems and procedures and ability to use various technology applications.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Good research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in order to meet strict and conflicting deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of basic accounting, document management, Companies and Securities Acts, Trustee Act and Trust & Corporate Services Providers Act.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities and risk management.
