Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Marketing team in the capacity of:

Copywriter (Contract)

Drive the success of special projects and key initiatives across the Sagicor Group.

Take responsibility for developing compelling and engaging content that resonates with various target audiences, reinforces the Sagicor brand, and achieves specific project objectives.

Translate complex information into clear, concise, and persuasive copy for a wide range of platforms and formats.

** May require frequent work outside of regular office hours and frequent travel island-wide, sometimes at short notice. **

Location: Kingston

As a Copywriter, you will:

• Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and marketing teams to understand special project goals, target audiences, and key messages.
• Develop comprehensive content strategies tailored to each special project and initiative, identifying optimal content types, channels, and tones.
• Create high-quality, original, and engaging copy for a variety of marketing materials.
• Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitor activities, and target audience insights to inform content creation.
• Analyze content performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize future content strategies for special projects.
• Present content concepts and rationale to internal teams and stakeholders, incorporating feedback effectively.
• Liaise with external agencies or freelancers when necessary for specialized content needs.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with corporate partners, including, but not limited to, media, suppliers and agencies, and continuously evaluate these relationships to ensure fair value for the company.
• Rigorously proofread and edit all content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, accuracy, and clarity.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.

• Minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in marketing or related field.
• Experience in the financial services industry will be an asset.
• Ability to meet multiple project deadlines and demonstrate keen attention to detail.
• Commitment to advancing the public image of Sagicor and its subsidiaries.
• Familiarity with web design.
• Experience in content management, knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.
• Understanding of the financial industry and regulatory environment.
• Sound knowledge of personal computing applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, database management and graphics tools.
