Construction Supervisor

Qualified individual required to lead/supervise team of workers while they are on project work sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead/supervise the team of workers - providing instructions and coordination during site works – to ensure project activities are accomplished within schedule, according to specifications, and according to appropriate regulations
• Ensure workers are complying with health and safety rules, standards and procedures as well as other regulations, while they work 
• Conduct work preparation meetings with the work team
• Establish/create work schedules and assign tasks/responsibilities to each workers
• Carry out site inspections identifying hazards and implementing appropriate solutions
• Create and provide progress and other reports as required
• Train workers on particular tasks when necessary

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Driver’s license is required
• Must have hands-on skills
• Must be comfortable with computers and technology in general – specifically MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, project management, and other related software. This is a necessity.
• Must be multidisciplinary
• Strong mathematical/computational ability
• Flexibility to work odd hours is a must
• Being abled (fit and strong) is vital as the job involves heavy lifting etc.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current trending and legal industry practices, codes and standards – including OHSE
• Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Working knowledge of current health, safety and environment best practices and standards within the industry
• Must be very clean and hygienic

EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Must have a technical diploma in either construction/electrical/civil engineering
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience
