About the Role:
The Compliance and Risk Clerk supports the Compliance and Risk Officer in ensuring Island Grill adheres to legal, regulatory, and internal standards. This administrative role involves maintaining accurate records, assisting with audits, and ensuring timely, precise documentation to help foster a strong culture of compliance and integrity.
Key Functions
- Assist with data collection and documentation for enterprise-wide risk assessments.
- Update and maintain the risk register under supervision of Compliance & Risk Officer.
- Support updates to the Business Continuity Plan.
- Provide administrative support during audits, reviews, and tests.
- Format, proofread, distribute and file compliance policies and procedures to manage version control.
- Assist with preparation of audit reports for Audit Committee by ensuring timely submission of relevant departments.
- Review and edit contracts to reduce risk, as directed by Compliance & Risk Officer.
- Maintain vendor compliance logs and checklists and escalate any missing items.
- Track third-party due diligence and escalate missing documents.
- Monitor and follow up on non-compliance remediation actions and send reminders and updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate and schedule compliance training sessions; record attendance and distribute training materials.
- Schedule and organize Corporate Governance and Audit Committee meetings and track committee action items.
- Assist with data protection compliance, support policy reviews, log incidents and breaches, and provide administrative support for investigations.
- Manage compliance records, handle queries, and support cross-departmental coordination.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate Degree or equivalent certification in Business Administration, Compliance, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years’ experience in an administrative or compliance-related role (legal background is a benefit).
- Familiarity with compliance, audit, or risk management principles preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
