Commissary/Warehouse Supervisor

Responsible for managing work involved in the operations of a centralized commissary/warehouse facility dealing with large volumes of food, materials and supplies as well as distribution for a chain of restaurants. Accountable for receiving goods, quality assurance, processing, storing, managing inventory, preparing orders and dispatching/delivering goods. Also responsible for making sure inventory systems are properly functioning and maintained in order to achieve the main goal of increasing efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction. In charge of properly maintaining a clean and safe environment while also securing the facility from theft and wastage.

• Work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Spice Central Limited.
• Process and prepare orders for delivery to scheduled locations in a timely manner.
• Ensure delivery information is correctly documented on the sales order forms and that forms are returned properly checked and signed by the Supervisor of each branch.
• Oversee and inspect incoming purchases and outgoing deliveries to ensure quality and quantity of products
• Organize and maintain up to date inventory records. Verify and log the weight of goods being dispatched and received from each food preparation area before and after processing.
• Monitor and manage inventory controls and maintain a running inventory by adjusting stock levels to reflect receipts and disbursements.
• Liaise and place orders with suppliers as required.
• Ensure that all warehouse inventory received is sorted, processed, packaged, labelled, organized and stored in the proper location using the FIFO method.
• Ensure all cold storage areas are secured and locked at all times.
• Responsible for safeguarding the Company’s property by performing employee bag and security checks upon exiting the premises as well as inspecting items leaving the facility, e.g. trash.
• Ensure all equipment associated with the job function is clean and maintained.
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization. Direct and conducts routine warehouse cleaning tasks.
• Report damaged or missing inventory to the Operations Manager
• Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to the Operations Manager.
• Listen to and advise the Operations Manager on service or order complaints, so that they can be resolved.
• Ensure workers’ adherence to all health and safety procedures and regulations as dictated by the Company and the Government.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
• Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet business needs and support the operation of the business.
• Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure acceptable service standards and efficient operations.

• CSEC or O’Level in Math & English
• Prior experience in a similar position will be an asset
• Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
• Experienced in inventory software, databases and systems
• Able to work six (6) days a week.
• Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk and climb during the course of the shift
• Physically able to lift weight of 50 pounds or more
• A valid medical certificate of fitness
