The Commercial Technical Sales Representative is a key contributor to the Group’s revenue growth strategy, with primary responsibility for developing and managing commercial sales across a diverse portfolio of clients and projects.
Position Summary
The Commercial Technical Sales Representative is a key contributor to the Group's revenue growth strategy, with primary responsibility for developing and managing commercial sales across a diverse portfolio of clients and projects. These include commercial paint contractors, KPL Shops, government institutions and projects (Eg TTEC, WASA, TTPOS, Fire Service, Airport Projects) real estate development companies, architects, interior designers, general contractors, energy sector companies and other commercial business prospects.
This role is responsible for building and sustaining strong customer relationship, identifying and pursuing special project opportunities, and expanding the Group's presence within new and existing product markets. The successful candidate will actively engage with stakeholders across the project lifecycle, maintain in depth knowledge of current and upcoming projects, and strategically position the Group's products for specification, bidding and tender opportunities.
General Responsibilities
1. Visit All construction sites in Trinidad and Tobago to solicit New Business for KPL bu ascertaining the customers techical needs and suggesting appropriate products.
2. Follow up on visits continuously with recommended products, quantity estimations, quotations, etc. The aim is to ensure that KPL Products are considered and essentially purchased.
3. Foster a network with architects, contractors, energy sector (Pt. Lisas, Pt. Fortin) and private commercial enterprises for potential projects in the pipeline.
4. Network with Government Agencies (NHA, HDC, NIPDEC, Ministry of Works, National Security, etc..) and Utility Companies (WASA, TTEC, TSTT, NCC, Etc..) and their contractor of choice to establish relationships and look for opportunities to market and sell KPL Products.
5. Establish and maintain a database of Small Painters/Contractors exclusive to KPL by offering them Free Seminars, Promotional Items, Special Discounts and incentives for using KPL Products and recommending our brand to potential clients. Incentives will be paid monthly on fully paid invoices.
6. Initiate and Coordinate Paint Seminrars/Demonstrations for contractors for new and existing products, on use, application and longevity. Offer comparative analysis to differentiate KPL products against competitors.
7. Explain complex technial information to potential customers.
8. Compile proposals and reports on KPL Product offering to the Commercial Manager and Technical Manager on Market Direction and New Product needs.
9. Ensure that sales targets are consistently achieved.
10. Understand and promote KPL Products by working closely with Marketing and other Sales Representatives.
11. Maintain established credit terms and pricing with customers. Ensure collections/payment are conducted timely and do not allow customers to become delinquent.
12. Enteratin customers product inquiries and resolves any technical issues with the assistance of the Lab Team.
13. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
14. Perform any other related job duties as required by the job function.
Education Requirements
1. Bachelor's Business Degree or Equivalent Sales and Marketing Certification.
2. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and CRM Hubspot.
Work Experience
1. Minimum of 5 years sales and marketing experience in the commercial projects in the constructon/real estate development industry (private and government customers)
2. Paint industry would be considered an asset.

1. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities, effectively conveying technical product information, building rapport with clients and delivering clear, professional presentations and demonstrations.
2. Apply solid sales techniques and negotitation strategies to identify customer needs, present value-driven solutions, overcome objections and close sales while maintaining long term client relationships.
3. Must be able to analyse and synthesize information to understand issues to make recommendations.
4. Collaborative with the ability to be a key team player and possess good interpersonal skills with varying personalities (Architects, Government Agencies, Utilities, Energy Sector, Paint Contractors, Project Supervisors, ETC..)
5. Ability to display a high level of integrity by keeping good on promises; holding self accountable and being honest and truthful.
