Commercial Manager, CoolMarket & Cool Loans

Role Overview

The Commercial Manager will lead the development and execution of integrated strategies to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share for Cool Loans (microfinance) and CoolMarket (e-commerce and retail). This role requires a dynamic leader with strong business acumen and the ability to build strong supplier and partner relationships while developing and managing cross-functional teams to achieve commercial objectives.

Reports to: Managing Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integrated commercial strategies aligned with company goals for both Cool Loans and CoolMarket.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform pricing, product, and service strategies.
  • Drive sales performance across microfinance and retail/e-commerce channels.
  • Set and monitor KPIs for loan portfolio growth, e-commerce sales, and retail store performance.
  • Optimize pricing models and promotional campaigns to maximize profitability.
  • Build strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Oversee customer acquisition and retention strategies for both businesses.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor credit risk for microfinance operations and ensure compliance with lending policies.
  • Lead and mentor commercial teams across both business units.
  • Conduct detailed analyses and provide insightful reports as required.

KPIs and Metrics for Success

 

  • Loan portfolio growth: Achieve a minimum of 25% growth annually.
  • E-commerce revenue: Achieve positive margin and increase sales by 20% annually thereafter.
  • Retail store performance: Achieve monthly sales targets and improve foot traffic by 30%
  • Customer retention: Achieve a customer satisfaction score of 90% or higher.
  • Credit risk: Keep non-performing loans below 7% of total portfolio.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial management, preferably in financial services and retail/e-commerce.
  • Experience with website analytics would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record in driving revenue growth and managing P&L.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
