Cold Storage Manager

Jamaica’s leading manufacturer and distributor of food and beverages, seeks to hire a Cold Storage Manager to support our dynamic growth.

The Cold Storage Manager has responsibility for the effective and efficient daily operations of the cold storage and distribution facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the activities of the department to ensure order fulfillment by utilizing efficient use of available resources including delivery vehicles, forklifts and all other equipment related to cold storage operation.
• Manage the daily operations of the cold storage facility, ensuring compliance temperature regulations for various perishable products in accordance to company policy.
• The effective management of inventory to reduce the likelihodd of inventory shrinkage and ensure adequate inventory control processes for receiving, storing and distributing products.
• Manage inbound shipments by closely collaborating with inbound and purchasinfg team to reduce and or eliminate demurrage and other inbound related costs.
• Manage the inventory write offs, destruction and disposal process, by ensuring internal and external compliance through correct communication with the relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee the various areas in the operation such as loading, picking, dispatch, returns, receiving, invoicing, delivery and other cold storage operational activity.
• Identify training gaps for staff in relation to cold storage operations and action
• Any other duties that may be assigned within the scope of the job

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Tertiary Level Qualifications in Business Administration, Logistics or related field preferred
• Minimum three to five (3-5) years' related experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity
• Ability to operator in a fast-paced environment and meet aggressive timelines
• Strong communications skills - both in written and verbal formats
• Good analytical, planning, problem solving, time manager and organization skills
• Spund knowledge of basic GMP, Safet and Warehousing Operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software
